”Not having to waste human life to defend monetized wealth is worth every watt.”
– Major Jason P Lowery – US National Defense Fellow | MIT
For millennia, humanity has grappled with imperfect money systems, from barter to precious metals to fiat currencies of today. Each system has had its flaws, contributing to various degrees of instability and suffering. Bitcoin, however, presents a paradigm-shifting technology with the potential to usher in a new era of financial stability and, perhaps even, a shift in human consciousness aligned with Vedic understanding.
A new paradigm for money
Bitcoin’s innovative design incentivizes responsible behavior and discourages manipulation, offering a more stable foundation for global commerce. This stability, in turn, could have a ripple effect, positively impacting various aspects of human civilization – from food security and healthcare to international relations and conflict resolution.

The Yugas of Hinduism: A framework for understanding
According to the Vedas, ancient Hindu scriptures, there are cyclical periods in Earth’s history called yugas (ages). These four periods correspond to the rise and fall of human consciousness. Each Yuga is marked by distinct societal and technological advancements linked to Earth’s position in a binary star system.
Kali Yuga (Material Age)
The darkest age, marked by ignorance, materialism, and suffering. Eating animals, and violent cruelty amongst humans is common during this time. In this age dharma (morality) is said to stand on one leg.
Dwapara Yuga (Energy Age)
The current age, characterized by a focus on increased harnessing of energy, advancements in communication technology to modulate space and time, and a rise in consciousness compared to Kali Yuga. In this age dharma is said to stand on two legs.
Treta Yuga (Mental Age)
An era where spirituality and morality are emphasized, with a focus on achieving a meaningful and ethical existence. Technological and spiritual advancement are increased during this time. In this age dharma is said to stand on three legs.
Satya Yuga (Spiritual Age)
A utopian period characterized by peace, abundance, and enlightened beings with extraordinary abilities. Technological and spiritual advancement peak during this time. In this age dharma is said to stand on four legs.

A stepping stone to higher yugas?
By breaking free from the limitations of fiat currencies, Bitcoin paves the way for a completely new monetary framework. Notably it is a separation of money and state unseen in the past 100 years. This shift, coupled with the positive social and technological changes it could catalyze, offers a potential pathway towards the higher yugas described in Vedic texts, such as the Treta Yuga.
While the road ahead remains uncertain, the emergence of Bitcoin presents a fascinating possibility. It might not be the sole driving force, but it could be a significant mechanism in propelling humanity towards a brighter future – a future characterized by greater peace, collaboration, and prosperity.
